smoothies + shop talk.

25 Jun

As a break from packing up my apartment in this insanely hot weather, I met up with Kristen of Anywhere There’s An Airport! I discovered Kristen’s blog a few months ago and have followed her as she’s traveled home to Florida and back to Madrid, as well as to Venice – where she recently got engaged! To beat the heat, Kristen suggested we meet at Juicy Avenue (Metro: Alonso Martinez), a smoothie place with – get this – air conditioning!

I failed and although I had my camera with me I forgot to snap any pictures…Anyway, I ordered a delicious Mango + Papaya smoothie (3,50 euro but well worth it in this heat) and we sat in super plush purple seats and chatted for a couple of hours about a whole range of topics – from Spanish culture and communication, to blogging in general and how we feel about heathy living blogs that feature incessant posts about granola and oatmeal, and Kristen’s upcoming wedding plans!

Unfortunately I’m leaving Spain in a few days so we won’t be able to hang out again in Madrid, but I had a good time on my first ever real-life blogger meet-up! So follow Kristen’s adventures at Anywhere There’s An Airport. As an added bonus, she gave me a restaurant rec for when I am back in LA – can’t wait to try Real Food Daily!
