toast bakery café.

toast bakery café.

This morning, my friends Amanda, Krisse, and I decided to take advantage of our empty weekday and scope out a popular brunch place near to where Krisse and I are both living. We were pleasantly surprised by the quick service, quality, and abundant menu options at Toast Bakery Café on 3rd Street at Sweetzer.

After some intense deliberation, Amanda and Krisse both went with the “Favorite” – an appealing blend of goat cheese, basil, sun-dried tomatos, spinach, avocados, and mushroom. I might have to try that one next time – but my selection, The Portobello, was scrumptious in its own right.

portobello omelette, whole grain toast, and fresh fruit.

The Portobello features portobello mushrooms (duh) mild jalapenos, cheddar, mozzarella, green onion, and sliced avocado. The whole-grain bread and fresh fruit were perfect accents as well.

Overall, we felt that the value was pretty high for the price and location – and our meals were all pretty filling.

It was great catching up with Krisse and Amanda before Amanda leaves us for another year of law school in DC.
