LA live.

15 Aug

This was officially my last weekend sans real responsibilities before the start of law school – and I definitely made the most of it! Here’s what went down:

Friday night my roommate Jenn and I threw a little house-warming party for ourselves – it was fun to bring our different friend groups together and hang out. We spent most of the day preparing for it and Jenn made some impressive homemade Oreo cookies.

our entry table, flowers, and scary hard alcohol.

my room (almost) fully furnished.

Saturday morning brought a much-needed post-party/sleep-deprivation trip to nearby Urth Caffé with Jenn and Whitney.

decisions, decisions.

so many tempting options.

the verdict: seeded bagel toasted with butter (i know it's weird i hate cream cheese)

...and AMAZING lattes!

We walked back home and then I headed out to hang with my family, get a run in at home, and go to my high school friend Garrett’s engagement party. So fun to see a bunch of old friends and remind me that I’m old.

On Sunday morning, Whitney and I made a day of it and headed to Pasadena to check out the Rose Bowl Flea Market! We each paid $8 to enter and spent the morning scouring the rows and rows of antiques, vintage clothes, and quirky odds and ends. Whitney scored two awesome end tables in the process and a couple other cool things – but I was too hesitant to commit to anything. Next time…

We rounded out our day with lunch at Le Grande Orange in Pasadena (thanks for the rec, Jenn!) The food was delicious – and the ambience and decór were cute and well-thought out in a French/California motif. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pasadena, and there was free 90 minute parking in the lot next door!

adorable menu

my Shangri-La Vegetarian burger. Heavenly.

Whitney's Green Chile Burger. Also fantastic.

The rest of the weekend included a long run (7 miles) through WeHo and Beverly Hills, cooking dinner with Whitney and Matty (shrimp tacos and guaca guaca flame…haha). I kicked off the week today with some yoga and tomorrow is when it all begins…law school orientation! Oh let’s go…

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! What are the highlights from yours?
