dinner downtown: public school 612

2 Sep

Last time, I went to The Edison with my parents, but last Tuesday, my roommate Jenn and I had dinner with our friend, Krisse, at Public School 612, a cute little school-themed restaurant downtown. The theme was woven throughout the small bar-style restaurant. “Happy Hour” becomes “Recess,” beer options on the menu are divided up between “Study Abroad” and “American History” options, the menu looks like an old-fashioned black and white composition books, and chalkboards are strewn throughout the place. The “recess” options were great too – $2 tacos and $4 beers! Score!

How do you feel about “themed” restaurants?

I don’t know that I’ve ever really been to a themed restaurant like this, but it looks fun! I’d like to try something new. I like the composition noteboko as a menu!

It was really cute – just the right amount of the theme and not overdone. I’d still pick 100 Montaditos, though, any day 🙂
