sushi, sake, and santa monica boulevard.

5 Sep

Last night my friends and I celebrated our friend Bryan’s 23rd birthday. The festivities began at Crazy Rock’n Sushi on Santa Monica.

jenn and her child-proof chopsticks.

the ingredients for a sake bomb. good thing we didn't do those obnoxious chants.

ryan's request: spicy tuna, eel sauce, and "crunchy stuff."

pre-sake bomb.

my sake bomb fail. typical.

they hooked bryan up with a delicious ice cream and mochi concoction.

my friends who happen to all color-coordinate? cute.

The sushi was tasty (I hate that word, but my mom insists I overuse “delicious”) and really inexpensive. After we wore out our welcome at the sushi place, we walked to The Hudson at Santa Monica and N. Crescent Heights. After some woman dressed as a flapper was rude to me in the bathroom line, it ended up being a pretty fun place! Stone IPA on tap for like $3 thanks to a Sunday night Happy Hour was pretty clutch. We ended the night at Bar Lubitsch. I am officially too old to have this much fun, and I took a nap today, breaking from my usual “naps are for suckers” mantra.

Back to the law school grind tomorrow – but not before “Sunday Dinner” tonight. Stay tuned.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Bryan!

How did you “celebrate” Labor Day?

Haha great night! The sushi was awesome, but I remember it looking better than the pictures, but I will chalk that one up to being hammered. I could have sworn I was in one those pictures though.

You were in a pic – unfortunately it came out super washed out :(.

Last night was so fun – too bad I’m basically still recovering, haha!
