thou shall covet.

25 Sep

I don’t really do posts like this that often, but in the course of the last few days I’ve assembled a list of things for my hypothetical wish list. So short of titling this post “want,” here are some things I’m currently coveting:

1. Frank Gehry rings. I’m a huge ring-wearer and love anything Gehry touches. These are so whimsical and so definitively Gehry. Plus, who can resist that little blue box? Love.

loveeeee.

2. Nike Free Shoes. Ever since I read Born to Run last spring, I have been contemplating getting my feet wet (hah) at this whole barefoot running movement. I can’t quite commit to trying Vibram 5 Fingers but I feel like Nike Frees might be my best bet. They mimic barefoot running and are super flexible – but I’d have to wear them for very short runs or gym trips. Regardless, something I’m thinking about…

a baby step toward barefoot running?

3. Lululemon Tank. I’ve been oohing and aahing over Lulu’s workout apparel for years – but it is REALLY pricey. I like the way Lululemon brands itself though, and have take advantage of a couple of their (free!) yoga classes in Calabasas and Thousand Oaks. Also, my desire to try out this LuLu tank has been spurred on by positive reviews from other bloggers, like Peanut Butter Fingers! Have any of you made the leap to Lululemon workout gear?

worth the hefty price-tag?

love. the. back.

4. Blue Bottle Coffee from Schulzie’s in Venice. I’ve run past this place the last two Saturdays and it has taunted me with its sign boasting “we proudly brew Blue Bottle Coffee.” This is the best coffee, ever, and one of the main reasons I considered moving to SF. But seriously.

My Sunday was über-productive. I slept forEVER last night thanks to a self-imposed early bed time, got up and ran 11 miles (past UCLA’s sorority row DURING recruitment – thankfully the parties were going on so I didn’t get lost in a gaggle of giggling girls). I wasn’t LOVING the first 4 miles, but I got into a groove and felt pretty good in the middle and toward the end.

I also spent some QT with the Beverly Hills library with my buddy Ryan. We were both productive – I worked on my memo and read some Civ Pro (still on personal jurisdiction – rage) and Ryan got in the zone for the upcoming portion of his CPA exam. Here’s a creepy picture I took.

study rager at BH library.

The rest of the night will include sunday dinner and the premiere of Amazing Race – my second favorite reality show. I’m sure you don’t need a reminder as to what the first one is.

Hope you’re all enjoying your Sundays!

Is there anything on my list you’re coveting? Or if not, what would the number 1 item on your list be?

P.S. My post yesterday on my dinner at Gaby’s was my 200th post! *Fistpump*

Haha yes right with you on the federal government…one day.

I know, I was so happy that they were in the houses – but the tons of handbags on the front lawns were a dead giveaway.

I think we are both thinking similarly!

Love those rings, I’ve never seen them before. Super unique. That tank is adorable too! But you’re right, Lululemon merchandise is so expensive. I just end up thinking of all the other things I could spend the money on….like food, ha!

I know…I can’t spend $50 on one workout tank when i could get 3 for that price at Target. fail.

My favorite lulu clothes are the pants. If I am going to spend the money it will be my bottom half. Pants are much harder to find. You know, the ones that make you bum look oh so good. 🙂 I live in them- far outside workout time.

Right now I am coveting crisp cool fall weather. It is definitely not hot anymore… but not quite cool either.

Oooh maybe I should add Lululemon pants to this list 🙂

and I’m with you on the fall weather! I’m ready for weather that merits scarves and pumpkin spiced lattes…and it’s definitely still shorts weather in LA.
