So last weekend was fun. Too much fun. In fact, I vowed to stay in this weekend and be completely productive, but alas, that has failed. Here’s what I was up to last weekend. Thursday I stayed in and watched American Psycho with one of my law school friends. After fiddling with the DVD player for 30 minutes and being completely unable to figure out how to get it to work, we settled for my laptop. I’d never seen American Psycho before and was warned it was pretty graphic. Butttt I ended up loving it. Christian Bale is phenomenal in it, and I liked the suspenseful/psychological elements of it. I also mentioned that I thought Christian Bale’s character looked a lot like Scott Disick. So of course I did some research and found that other people feel the same way. The author of the book upon which the film is based even tweeted recently that if the film is re-made, he’ll only be okay with it if Disick is cast. I also found out that Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” video was inspired by the film.
On Friday, I headed out to the South Bay to celebrate my friend Blake’s birthday. First we had a delicious dinner at Hot’s Kitchen in Hermosa Beach. Then, we went to a couple of bars in Manhattan Beach (Sharkeez and Hennessey’s) and drank way too much – fireball shots anyone? Love my law school posse. Me, Heather (Blake’s fiance!) and Armita:
It was an epic night and fun was had by all. On Sunday, I hung out for most of the day and then went to a school event on campus – the annual PILF Auction. It was pretty mellow but not that many 2Ls were there. After that, I met up with my friend Chris to go to a show at The Exchange downtown. The show was GREAT but I didn’t get my hearing back til about 4 pm the next day. Adrian Lux had a ton of energy and he mixed a few of my favorite songs into his 2+ hour set. Needless to say, I slept like a baby that night! This week was lackluster at best – school was sort of boring and tedious and I felt sort of “blah” at school and with my workouts. I’ve gone on a few easy runs since NWM 13.1 and my hip pain is subsiding (thanks in part to an amaaaazzinnggg yoga class on Monday at Core Power yoga). I’m thinking about jumping into another half marathon on Sunday, but am now thinking that may not be the best decision. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
