clif mojo + camelbak relay review.

23 Mar

I’m recovering from a week filled of workouts (6 spin classes in 5 days might be a tad on the aggressive side) but I wanted to pop in and share my thoughts on a couple of products that were recently sent to me to check out!

I’m a fan of Clif Bar — half a Clif Bar has often been a pre-run go-to for me.  A little while ago, Clif reached out and asked if I’d be interested in trying their MOJO bars.  Of course I said yes.

IMG_6119Overall,  the MOJO bars reminded me a LOT of KIND bars (which are a favorite of mine).  I like that the bars had real chunks of dried fruit and whole nuts, as well as other healthy and delicious things (chia seeds, peanut butter, chocolate, coconut, etc.)

My favorite flavors were the ones with dark chocolate – both the Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and the Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond were rich and dessert-like.  I liked the idea of a Coconut Almond Peanut bar but I feel like there was maybe one too many flavors going on in there.  While peanuts and coconuts are two of my favorite things I’m not sure they go together. I’d buy these bars and I think they’re on par with KIND bars, but I think overall KIND bars might be slightly more tasty.

This week I also had the opportunity to check out a new product from Camelbak, the “Relay” water filtration system, which will be available in stores this month.

The Relay is similar to a Brita system, but what’s cool about the Relay is that it filters in real time.  I’ve used a Brita filter for years, and while it’s convenient, I sort of love that this fills up entirely while you’re at the sink.  It also makes transportation of the device back to the fridge easier because the pitcher isn’t top heavy because all of the water is waiting to be filtered.

photo 1 (6)So far, I am a convert.  I am hoping the filter refills will be easy to find (meaning that they better be at my local City Target because that’s the only place I ever go).

[Disclosure: Clif Bar and Camelbak both sent me product free to review, but I was not compensated for this post.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own].

Tell me:

  • Favorite snack bar?
  • Have you tried the MOJO? Fav flav?
  • Do you use a water filtration system of some kind or do you trust the tap?

I have a filter thingy in my fridge door but it is literally the world’s slowest pour. Lately Ive been trying to get productive and do calf raises or something while I wait for my cup to fill up! Also I love KIND bars so I definitely have to try the Mojo.
